Hey everyone,
Today’s post will be to announce two events:
Cohort based course “Mastering Software Engineering” I’m teaching on Maven
Ask Me Anything Session next Tuesday
Mastering Software Engineering Course
I completed the first cohort of my cohort based course on Maven: https://maven.com/georges-el-khoury/mastering-software-engineering
Maven does a great job helping you through a course of their own on how to launch, market and teach a cohort based course. I learned so much in it and met a lot of interesting people teaching different topics. I really recommend it if you feel like teaching a topic you are passionate about.
For me, I completed my first cohort with eleven students. It was a great cohort and we had great discussions. I landed on a syllabus with three sections: Developing Software, Maintaining Software and Culture & Team across 12 modules. You can find all the details here: https://maven.com/georges-el-khoury/mastering-software-engineering
I am opening a new cohort. If you or someone else is interested, you can join the waitlist on this link: https://maven.com/forms/6979d3. Feel free to reply if you have any questions.
Ask Me Anything (AMA) Event
I started this newsletter with a hope of meeting and interacting with software engineers around the world. It has mostly been a one way communication though. I’m planning to do something about this. I’m going to launch an Ask Me Anything (AMA) event next Tuesday at 9:00 AM PDT.
What does ask me anything means? It means really ask me anything at least software engineering related.
It could be: Flutter vs Native? SQL or No/SQL? Career Advice? What programming language to learn? Startups vs big companies?
I’ll answer some times with a strongish opinion, a lot of times with it depends and few times with I have no idea what do you think :) ?
If you or someone else would like to attend, you can register on this link: https://lu.ma/e5r9wx5d. Feel free to reply in advance with your question if you prefer.
p.s. I added a section called Cohort Based Course to this newsletter. Maybe I’ll rename it to Updates from Georges. If you would like to strictly receive the technical posts (although these will be technical too), you can unsubscribe only from this Cohort Based Course Section.
As usual, feel free to reply if you have any questions or if you have any suggestions of a topic I should cover in the newsletter.
